Breaking Up Waking Up Is Hard To Do

I really don't know what it is, but I am NOT a morning person by any means! I've been up for about a half hour (yep, on summer days I do sometimes sleep in until 8:45am) and I am still dragging. Coffee has yet to do any sort of work in helping me function. I can honestly say that mornings are my least favorite time of the day. I want to just sleep until whenever my heart desires, get up and get ready, get my stuff done for the day, hang out with my hubby and the kids and go to bed as late as my heart desires. Guess what? Having for kids allows zero room for this. So, now that it's almost 9:20am, I suppose I am best to get up, get moving and get my day started.

Dear Energy and Motivation,
I miss you. Wherever you have gone, please come find me again.
Sincerely,

  1. I love mornings, I especially love getting up before anyone else is up, like, around 6am or something. I'll spend some quiet time by myself, watch the sun rise, pray, and then.... go back to bed.

I should go back and add that I only love mornings when they don't require me getting up and getting ready for work!!

I'm blessed in that none of my kids are early risers. This summer, the average wake up time for the boys is 8:30-9am, for Jillian it's around 9:30-10am. When Jillian gets up, I'm up for the day.

I love going to bed as late as possible, though!

I wanted to give you a hug and tell you that it gets MUCH easier as the kids get older... take heart!

  2. I am so exactly like you Kami! Mornings are horrible for me. I would much rather stay up late until I feel tired, and then sleep in until I feel rested. I hate waking up in the mornings unless it's on my own schedule!! (This does not work so well when I have a job though...)

  3. Hi Kami,

Thanks so much for your kind words regarding our travel delay. The scripture you posted provided strength and was food for the soul...thanks. God does provide and part of that provision is through kind people like you who offer their support. It really helps us feel like we are not in this alone. We are resting in God, knowing He knows best and will see this through:-).

As far as mornings, before kids I never was a morning person, but know I love the quiet peaceful 'me' time when I get up early. Of course both my boys didn't start to sleep in until they started school and HAD to get up;-)....amazing how that works!!

    God bless~Tam

  4. Hi Kami!
Thanks for the nice comments recently! :o)
I'm totally with you, wondering where my energy has gone lately, especially today! This morning came way too soon... but there was no turning back once Seth came into our room annoucing that he was hungry! ;O) Ahhhhh.......
(random note: I am going to try to find some time in the next couple days to email you, and I just wanted to give you a heads up in case my address shows up as junk mail or something - I've had that happen before!)
Anyway, hope you have a nice evening!
