A Peek Into My Home: The Balcony

I'm starting a new feature on my blog which I'm titling "A Peek Into My Home".  You see, there are so many aspects about my home that I just love and I want to be able to share these places with you.  So, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy some time with me as we begin a tour of my home, starting with our balcony.

Right off of our master bedroom are these beautiful french doors that lead out to a private retreat where Ethan is happily playing!

Ethan also enjoys seeing his reflection in the glass of the french doors! :)

There are two chairs and a table out there, as to sit and enjoy the view of the lake and the sounds of the woods while sipping on a beverage of choice.

One side of our balcony is empty, holding limitless possibilities as to what to put there (perhaps a comfortable chaise lounge?!).

The balcony is a haven, a place to relax with friends or family ... or (for our boys) to be shirtless, just like dad!

The reason that my first home feature is my balcony is due to the fact that it was recently cleaned.  Before this cleaning (which took me two-and-a-half hours!) our balcony was covered with spider webs, fallen leaves and other debris from our recent storm (which also took out one of our apple trees) and was just generally dirty and somewhere that you didn't want to go.  We are typically hesitant to spend much time cleaning or enjoying the balcony, due to the fact that it is so close to the woods, which in turn causes hords of mosquitoes to attack as promptly as they can and also causes all of the dirtyness to encompass our balcony in a hurry.  However, our next project is to screen in the balcony so that this cleanliness can be enjoyed in a bug-free zone as often as we choose to go out there for a sweet escape!

I can hardly wait!

Pending the arrival of our screen (which we ordered online), we will be making this a no-bug retreat, taking this beautiful balcony and allowing it to continually be the haven of which it was intended to be!

Won't you come enjoy a cup of coffee with me on the balcony once it's complete?!  :)
